Music has always been a catalyst for creative processes. Captivated by Drift by Amanaska. The haunting Arabic vocals compelled a conversation with artist, Simon Lewis. This conversation turned into collaboration, and soon, the artwork for his next album. Inspired by astrophotography, a little-known salt lake on the outskirts of Melbourne was chosen as the location, capturing a seamless transition from day to night. The design process was deeply immersive, shaped by the music itself, allowing the visuals to reflect the album’s expansive, atmospheric sound. The final artwork played with spatial depth, using grading and negative space to create a sense of vastness within the constraints of a 2D format.
