In May 2020, Andrew and his team were engaged to rebrand Buy Douglas: Build Douglas (BDBD) into Do it in Douglas, as part of a local initiative aimed at boosting the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Launched in partnership with the Douglas Shire Council, the Douglas Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Port Douglas Daintree, and Jabalbina Aboriginal Corporation, the initiative encouraged both locals and visitors to spend locally, helping to mitigate the substantial economic impact the region faced during the crisis. With Port Douglas among the hardest-hit areas in Queensland, and international borders remaining closed for an extended period, the initiative aimed to create a lasting recovery. The project encompassed a full rebrand, including an online content hub and business directory, as well as a series of short films and stills that told intimate, emotive stories of locals. These narratives aimed to shift the tide of Sydney and Melbourne residents towards Port Douglas through the lens of the community itself. The goal was to create an engaging and inviting brand platform that not only encouraged adoption but also captured the essence of the region, making it a go-to destination for those seeking connection and recovery in the face of uncertainty.
